That's What I'm Talkin About!!

Cheers Kip, couldn't have put it better myself.

Last night went 2 for 3 as far as football results I care about. The Arsenal traveled to Villa Park and brought home 3 points off a Diaby goal that was more of a deflection than a shot. Alaidiere missed a sure free header and there were a number of other shots, but it ended in a1-0 to the Arsenal, which is fine by me. There are mixed reports about the rest of the team, but since I haven’t watched the match yet and only heard snippets of the match online (thanks again to work getting in the way of a good time), I’ll just leave it be. It is a much needed win and it can only help the team’s morale. I’ll leave all the speculation and silly season talk to the rest of the pundits. 3 points = good in my book. On to the next match, which is Everton away on Sunday.

The Arsenal Youth team went up 1-0 yesterday as well with a Kieran Gibbs strike. This will prove valuable as the kids travel to Old Trafford for the second leg. There was a huge crowd there as well (38,187) which though it isn’t the stadium capacity, is a LOT of people for a youth match. This may have been partly to do with Arsenal (first team) not being shown on TV, but none the less, great to see the support of the youngster. Must have been a bit nerve wracking for the kids, but good job to them.

Lastly, Plymouth’s poor form continued as they lost 2-4 to Barnsley, which is a team that is fighting off relegation. Argyle went up early, but didn’t seem to have it in them. Holloway was not too pleased with the team:

"I thought Barnsley were fantastic but we were rubbish. That's the worst we have played since I have been here.

"Too many people were saying we were unlucky to be knocked out of the FA Cup but let's get it right: we lost to Watford and we lost tonight.

"We have only picked up three points from 12 and that is relegation form."

Hopefully they can get their act together as they face south London side Crystal Palace at home in Home Park.

Adios.
